Following a politics degree who would have thought Fizz Pop Science would be the future…For Andrew Amey it was.
Andrew joined Fizz Pop Science as an instructor for the Birmingham area while still at university. Seeing the success the area was having, rather than following he pre planned career route, Andrew decided life as his own boss within Fizz Pop was for him. He joined as a franchisee in 2017 and goes on to say:
“I have been within the Fizz Pop team one way or another for 4 years now. There was an advert in my student union for an Instructor, which I applied for and got. I spent time doing the shows and later became a Manager.
My plan was to become a teacher following on from university but having spent time working for Fizz Pop Science, as my degree came to an end it was a natural progression for me to join as a franchisee.
The benefits of being your own boss are great; I don’t work weekends and I have the flexibility to choose my working hours. Life with Fizz Pop is varied with no days being the same.
For me it’s important that we deliver a quality show to the children. Fizz Pop Birmingham is less expensive than other competitors; schools and parents want high quality for lower cost and that’s what I aim to give them.
We are already seeing tremendous growth with our projected turnover for this year being almost double last year. In 1 month we exceeded £25k turnover and with our plans to scale up next year, we hope to see many more of these monthly turnovers. We currently only work with around 15% of the schools within the territory, so the potential is huge.
I have big plans for the future and would like to take on the Leicestershire area and become the franchisee from East to West UK coasts.”
